What The Cross Means To Me

When I see a cross it reminds me of the 39 stripes and the pain Christ bore so that I could be healed. It reminds me of the blood he shed so that my sins could be washed away.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed."
( Isaiah 53:5 asv)
At a young and tender age of 3 I was diagnosed with cancer of the bone.
The Doctors believed there was no hope for me, but my parents believed that nothing was impossible with God. I was admitted to have surgery immediately, while my parents sat outside the operating theatre praying and believing that God would perform a miracle. Today I am 29 years old, and have never seen a trace of cancer again. I don't remember the pain or suffering and if I didn't have the scar that grew smaller as I grew bigger. I probably wouldn't have believed my parents. I believe that Christ went through that pain and suffering so that I could be healed.
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”
(1 Pet. 2:24 nasb)
You were healed 2,000 years ago by his stripes, but you have to receive it by faith today. Healing is part of your inheritance; but in order to live in your inheritance, you have to believe it for yourself and accept it as a reality in your life. You just have to believe that God Can!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16 niv)
When I see a cross I see love.
